About
Pilar Lombana is the founder of ACANEA, a wellness and community-based practice dedicated to personal growth, emotional healing, and conscious living. Born in Popayán, Colombia, Pilar has followed a lifelong path of learning, seeking to understand how individuals can overcome stress, trauma, and life challenges while developing resilience, confidence, and purpose.
Since 2001, she has studied a variety of holistic and therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness, Reiki, energy healing, body-based therapies, meditation, and emotional awareness practices. She is studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Brown University and trained in LNT® – The Schwiderski Method, a body-centered approach to releasing emotional patterns. She also holds an Associate Degree in Human Services from Mohawk Valley Community College and is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Community Behavioral Health at SUNY.
Pilar combines academic knowledge with holistic practices to create workshops and programs that help individuals reduce stress, improve emotional balance, and develop greater self-awareness. Her work focuses on practical tools that people can use in everyday life to feel calmer, more confident, and more connected.
In addition to her private practice, Pilar founded ACANEA Community Alliance Inc., a nonprofit organization that develops youth programs, school workshops, and community events that promote leadership, creativity, and emotional well-being. Through initiatives such as Culture of Peace and the Utica Walkathon at the Park, she works to support young people and families by creating opportunities for growth, learning, and positive change.
Pilar believes that when individuals learn to understand themselves, they gain the ability to transform their lives and contribute to stronger, healthier communities.
